Attainment of COs
PS Govt degree College :: Penukonda :: Sri Satyasai Dt
The Program Outcomes (POs) and Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs) are accomplished through curriculum. Course Outcomes (COs) are defined for each course and they are mapped to POs and PSOs.
At college level evaluation of attainment of Programme outcomes, Programme specific outcomes and Course outcomes is done through Direct method (Result Analysis) & Indirect method (Student’s feedback.) which helps to improve the education quality of the college and graduates.
1. Direct Assessment method
Preparation of learning outcomes across all the programs & courses. The set program outcomes, course outcomes and programme specific outcomes are gathered for different courses, and then calculations are done for measuring attainment of the outcomes and represented in result analysis of every department. other ways are also used to measure attainment of outcomes such as Collecting evidences on students learning directly, work submitted by students, skills, demonstration, attitude etc. The attainment of outcomes is calculated by using the following formula
Sl No |

i. Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA):
Continuous Internal Assessment is a critical step in the leaning process. It determines whether learning objectives of the course / programme have been met. A learning objective is the
expectation about what students should know or be able to do by the time a lesson is
completed. The CIA has been divided into four categories of inventory tasks and activities as detailed below:

The total scaled down to 25 and this should be treated as the CIA score of the student in that subject. |

(Based on the Standard operating Procedure (SoP) for continuous internal Assessment isprescribed by the CCE, AP, Vijayawada).
ii. Semester-end Theory Examinations
The questions in semester-end examinations are tested pertaining to all COs, in varying Blooms Taxonomy Levels.
iii. Laboratory Records
Both continuous and semester-end examinations are conducted to test the COs attainment.
2. Indirect Assessment Methods
At college level evaluation of attainment of Programme outcomes, Programme specific outcomes and Course outcomes is done through indirect method like collecting feedback from the students’ parents and alumni during their meet.
In addition, the institution takes the Placement record and higher education details of the students as supporting evidences for the assessment of POs.
