Welcome to Paritala Sriramulu Government Degree College
Paritala Sriramulu Government Degree College is located in a rural site with a campus area of 18.84 acres the college aims at providing higher education to all, particularly to the poor and the under privileged sections of the region. The College offers 04 Undergraduate Courses and Two Certificate Programmes on self financing basis. The Arts faculty offers B.A, with Economics, Political Science, History as electives; B.Com., General and B.Com. Computer Applications and B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science.
So far, the college has been administered by 23 Principals since its inception. The College has 13 (1 female) permanent, 13 (7 female) temporary teachers. Out of these teachers 6 have Ph.D and 5 have M.Phil degrees and 8 have been qualified in UGC-NET and APSET. There are 04(3 female) non teaching staff in the College. The College has support services like library, computer centre, grievance redressal cell, Gym and sports facilities. The library has 14,502 books and 06 journals. The College has 30 computers. Many teachers are honoured by the local organizations.
This college is accredited with “C” grade in the year 2016 with available resources and strengths. To acquire better grade and score the institution is bent upon putting every effort in shaping the institution in a meaningful way with tooth and nail with all stakeholders, parents, philanthropists etc.,
P.S.Government Degree College, Penukonda, is one among the prominent institutions of Higher Education in Andhra Pradesh under affiliation to Sri. Krishnadevarya University, Ananatpuram in 1980. It got its U.G.C. Recognition under 2(f) and 12(B) in 1994. It continues its journey of academic excellence in imparting Quality Higher Education by responding to academic and administrative challenges.
- The institution has conducted SWOT analysis with an appropriate methodology to find out strategic issues and challenges to be addressed in order to continue existence and grow forward.
- Most important Strengths and Weaknesses have become the guiding principles for the formulation of the Institutional Development Plan prepared.
- SWOT analysis identified ICT, Faculty excellence, Physical Infrastructure, Affordability etc as the strengths and Remote location.
- Declining Student Strength and poor marketing strategies as weaknesses of the institution. Based on these and identified opportunities and threats, the IDP was structured.
- The faculty will be encouraged to undertake research projects and consultancy services in career guidance and counselling areas.
